Abstract
The state of Sabah presents a unique case study in the global surgery discourse, where geographic isolation, infrastructural gaps, and workforce shortages continue to limit timely access to essential surgical care.
The Sabah Medical Evacuation (MEDEVAC) service addresses these barriers by improving rapid access to surgical intervention for remote populations. The presentation highlights the key achievements of the service, while also outlining ongoing challenges and areas for development, offering valuable insights into delivering surgical equity in resource-constrained settings.
