Abstract
This presentation explores the concept of a single-surgeon centre, focusing on the unique challenges and potential opportunities that arise from rural Class 4 hospital.
The presentation will discuss key challenges, including resource limitations, patient volume management, work-life balance, and the risk of burnout. It will also highlight opportunities for enhanced patient care, specialized expertise, streamlined decision-making, and potential for increased patient satisfaction. By examining both the obstacles and the advantages, the presentation aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the dynamics of single-surgeon centres and offer strategies for maximizing success in such a setting. This presentation also serves to give insights to future generations of young surgeons in Malaysia.
