Hasmizy bin Muhammad
Dr. Hasmizy Muhammad is a Senior Consultant Cardiothoracic Anaesthesiologist and Perfusionist, and Head of the Department of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care at Sarawak Heart Centre, Malaysia. He holds national leadership roles as Sarawak State Anaesthesiologist and Head of Training for Anaesthesiology and Critical Care at the Ministry of Health.
He is the President-Elect of the Malaysian Society of Anaesthesiologists (MSA), Honorary Secretary of the College of Anaesthesiologists, Academy of Medicine of Malaysia, and Vice President of the Malaysian Cardiothoracic Anaesthesiology and Perfusion Society (MASCAP).
Dr. Hasmizy earned his medical degree in 1998 and Master of Medicine (Anaesthesiology) in 2006 from University Science Malaysia. His extensive training includes cardiac anaesthesia and perfusion in Malaysia and South Korea, a Graduate Diploma in Clinical Ultrasound from the University of Melbourne, a Master in Business Administration, and a Leadership in Medicine Certificate from Harvard Medical School. He also gained experience in ECMO and pediatric cardiac anaesthesia in Germany and the UK.
Actively involved in teaching and training, Dr. Hasmizy is an examiner for the Master of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care and the Fellowship of The College of Anaesthesiologists of Ireland.
