Dato’ Dr. Mohd Azman Bin Yacob serves as the Director of the Medical Development
Division at the Ministry of Health Malaysia. A seasoned public health medicine specialist,
he has an impressive portfolio encompassing numerous research publications, prestigious
awards, and active participation in workshops and professional memberships. Dato’ Dr.
Mohd Azman has also been a sought-after speaker, delivering keynote addresses and
speeches at both local and international conferences.
Before assuming his current role, he served as the Director of the Medical Practice Division
and Deputy Director at Hospital Raja Perempuan Zainab II, Kelantan. His academic
credentials include a Medical Degree (MBBS) earned in 1997 and a Master’s in Community
Medicine obtained in 2009, both from Universiti Sains Malaysia. He also participated in the
prestigious Southeast Asia Leadership (SEAL) Program for medical leaders at Harvard
Medical School.
Dato’ Dr. Mohd Azman brings extensive expertise in hospital governance, administration,
and financial management, coupled with deep knowledge of medico-legal matters,
legislative enforcement, and the quality monitoring of private healthcare services.
Renowned for his exemplary leadership, Dato’ Dr. Mohd Azman has been instrumental in
propelling the Medical Development Division to new heights. His unwavering dedication to
embedding lean thinking into the work culture of healthcare professionals underscores his
commitment to enhancing patient care. By fostering a culture of efficiency and value, his
initiatives are paving the way toward a more sustainable and patient-centered healthcare
system in Malaysia.
