Dato’ Indera Dr Nor Azimi binti Yunus is the Deputy Director General of Health (Medical), Ministry of Health Malaysia since 7 February 2024. She oversees the matters related to secondary and tertiary medical services including 150 public hospitals and special institutions.
She is the Head of Medical Programme that lead the Medical Development Division, Medical Practice Division, Allied Health Sciences Division, Traditional and Complementary Medicine Division as well as Nursing Division. As DDG (Medical), she is also the advisor and reference in matters related to medical and health legislation.
Graduated with a Medical Doctor (M.D.) Degree from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 1991 pursued her study in the field of Public Health and attained a Master Degree in Public Health from University Malaya in 1997.
Has worked at all levels within Ministry of Health. From 19th November 2019 till July 2021, held the post of State Health Director of Terengganu. From 23rd July 2021 till January 2024, she held the post of State Health Director of Pahang. Through her 33 years of working experience, was awarded the Excellence in Service award Ministry of Health in 1999, 2002, 2010, 2012 and 2018. In year 2022 conferred the SIMP award from the Sultan of Pahang which carries the title “Dato’ Indera”.
